My grandfather
Milo G. Goshorn was born on September 19, 1883, in Crittenden, Grant County, Kentucky. He was the son of
Thomas Washington Goshorn and
Leila Grace (Brown) Goshorn &
the youngest of their three children. By the time he was 11 both of his parents had died. His father & both grandfathers were all
coopers, and for much of his life Milo worked with wood.
He married Lucy Caroline Bingham in May of 1907. They had three daughters between 1908 and 1913. During that time they lived in Guthrie, OK where he was a gas fitter. Then they moved to Memphis, TN where he worked with his brother
J.O. Goshorn, who owned a factory that manufactured plow & cultivator handles.
Lucy died in October 1913. Their three daughters, Fern, Helen & Virginia were raised by his late wife's parents in Seminole County, OK. Unable to find work in Seminole County, Milo moved north. In 1916 he was living & working in Anaconda, Montana working for the Anaconda Copper Mining Co.
It was in Montana that he met my grandmother, Eva.
